Joann Mundth Douglas is a Reedsburg native who grew up on a small dairy farm 7 miles outside of Reedsburg with her parents and six siblings. After graduating with a BS from UW Eau Claire, she spent roughly 20 years in New York City and the Twin Cities working in magazine publishing, non-profit fundraising and dabbling as a poet. It was in these urban environments that she witnessed how quickly a community of creatives could positively transform neighborhoods.

After returning to Reedsburg in 2003, she began volunteering with a local arts organization. Through that experience, she gained confidence that creativity could also transform small rural communities like her own.

In 2013 she enrolled in Arts Wisconsin’s Rural Arts Management Certificate Program and in 2014, she co-founded Reedsburg ArtsLink with local artists Katie Godfrey and Katie Schofield.
