Join local arts supporters extraordinaire and Beastro & Barley owners Chef Kari and Mike Walker for a Sunday Brunch including your choice of specialty bloody marys, with recipes pulled from The Bloody Mary written by Reedsburg native Brian Bartels (Webb High class of ‘94).  Brian, mixologist, author and co-owner of the new Settle Down Tavern in Madison, will be on hand to sell and sign copies. Proceeds benefit Reedsburg ArtsLink!

About Brian Bartels

Brian Bartels was raised in Reedsburg, Wisconsin (The ‘Burg).  He has been a writer and bartender his entire adult life.  His last book, The Bloody Mary, was published in 2017 with Ten Speed Press and nominated for an IACP Award.  His recent book, The United States of Cocktails:  Tales, Traditions and Recipes from Every State, arrived in September 2020 with Abrams Publishing. 

He’s been featured in Imbibe, Wine Enthusiast, and The New York Times. His writing has appeared in Fiction Writers Review, PUNCH, Hobart, Vinepair, and the Missouri Review.  He is currently finishing up a new book about opening a restaurant in the middle of a global pandemic and writing a new novel, titled Radio Road Heart.  He lives in Madison, Wisconsin, and is the co-owner of the Settle Down Tavern.
